You may have heard the aphorism,

 “Those who can, do.

Those who can’t, teach.”

I have been around the block enough times to attest that neither statement is universally true.  There are veterans in every industry, men and women you may have never heard of, who cast a long shadow in their respective fields.  When these seasoned professionals share their wealth of experience and knowledge, these people who “do” become “teachers” and prove the old adage wrong once again.

I have been fortunate over the years to have found dozens of these quiet industry heroes who have shared with me their vast experience.  Their willingness to share what they know about “doing” has been invaluable.  I encourage you to seek out those sometimes quiet, but always knowledgeable leaders in your field and ask them to share what they know.  I’m confident you will find many experienced “teachers” who “do” every day, but are willing to share what they know.  You only have to ask.
